DESCRIPTION:Coastal Communities Manager\, Sinead\, will be attending this year’s Stop Litter Now! Summit in Brussels. \nSharing Responsibility For Litter Prevention In Europe \nThe Stop Litter Now! Summit 2016 couldn’t be more timely! The European Commission’s comprehensive proposals to establish shared responsibility for litter and prevention of littering are being examined by the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers. \nThe Commission wants national waste management plans to include national action to deal with sources of litter and all types of littering. Producers whose products often enter the litter stream will be obliged to communicate about prevention of littering. And all member states will be required to ensure that littering becomes an offence punishable by law. \nThe Summit scopes out the challenge\, profiles key work in the field and brings together stakeholders from across the EU to discuss solutions and debate shared responsibility. The event will conclude with a keynote speech from Commissioner Karmenu Vella and a panel debate on implementing shared responsibility.

DESCRIPTION:Clean Coasts are delighted to announce the Clean Coasts Roadshow which will be running at various locations around the coast of Ireland. It aims to bring together all those with an interest in protecting their local beaches\, seas and marine life. \nA Kerry Stop will take place on Wednesday 20th April at the Fenit Community Centre\, Fenit from 7pm to 9pm. \nA flavour of some of the speakers: \n\nWild Atlantic Way Officer\nKerry County Council\nSusan Vickers\, Clean Coasts Officer for Clare\nMarine/Coastal Ecology expert\nEU Directives and Legislation expert\nLocal Clean Coasts Volunteering Groups\n\nFenit Community Centre\, Fenit\, Co.
