DESCRIPTION:Clean Coasts Big Beach Clean weekend will take place on the 15th\, 16th and 17th of September 2017. We are delighted to team up with the International Ocean Conservancy again for the International Coastal Cleanup event. DESCRIPTION:Clean Coasts and Barefoot Wines are delighted to bring you the ‘Beach Rescue Project’ on the 8th of July in Strandhill\, Co. Sligo.  \nThe event is part of Barefoot’s ‘World Beach Rescue Day’\, a campaign which has supported over 14\,000 volunteers since its launch 11 years ago\, in several countries including the US\, Mexico and Germany. \nThe Beach Resuce Project is being held in Ireland for the first time and it aims to create a fun and festive atmosphere whilst drawing attention to coastal issues such as marine litter and dune erosion. \nThe day’s activities are open to the public and include beach yoga\, surfing demos\, face-painting\, sand sculpting\, marram grass planting\, ‘Talks in the Park’\, and most importantly a Big Beach Clean. \nWe will also be throwing an after-party in The Strand Bar to thank everyone who takes part in the beach clean. The party will include a BBQ\, live music from soul singing sensation Buck Taylor and for those over 18\, a free glass of Barefoot wine to toast a job well done! \nThere will also be plenty of giveaways on the day\, including prizes for those who collect the most litter.

DESCRIPTION:CALLING ALL COASTAL OUTDOOR ADVENTURE GROUPS! \nAre you part of a water sports or outdoor adventure club? Would you like to incorporate a coastal clean-up into one of your next adventures and also be in with a chance to win a GoPro camera? This year\, Clean Coasts are encouraging adventure sports groups to take part in ‘Extreme Clean Day’ on Saturday 10th June. To take part all you have to do is organise an outing somewhere along the Irish coastline\, register it with us and clean as you go! \nYou can register your group for ‘Extreme Clean Day’ on this webpage and in return we will send you out a clean-up kit with gloves\, bags\, data collection cards\, posters and high-vis vests. \nWe also have 2 GoPro cameras up for grabs for best photo and video taken on the day. Post your images onto our Facebook page by 12 midnight on the 10th June and we will announce the winners the next day! \nPlease act responsibly and do not take unnecessary risks during this event. Images found to display hazardous behaviour will not be published or entered into our competition.

DESCRIPTION:To celebrate Coca-Cola Clean Coasts Week\, Clean Coasts Officer for Donegal\, Beckey-Finn\, will be teaming up with our groups\, Downings Tidy Towns and Downings Beach Clean Up \, for a talk on marine litter and what we can do in coastal communities to combat the issue followed by a beach clean. The event is open to everyone to attend. \nIt will take place on Wednesday\, June 7th in at 10am at Downings beach. A drum circle will take place on 2 beaches in the Republic of Ireland\, Mayo and Kerry\, and a beach in Northern Ireland\, and these activities will be followed by a quick beach clean. \nThere will be a drumming circle event on Keel Beach on Achill on Monday 5th June at 8:30pm post beach clean.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Ireland’s spectacular coastline by getting involved in Coca-Cola Clean Coasts Week 2017. The week runs from June 2nd – 11th and there are many ways for you to get involved. \n \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER FOR CLEAN COASTS WEEK\n \n\n\n\n\nWe have all seen the evidence of marine litter along our coastline so for all you beach lovers out there it was an opportunity to do something positive to combat the problem and also raise awareness about the issue. People can create their own beach clean event or participate in one. Every piece of litter removed from the coast is a piece of litter that won’t pollute our oceans or harm wildlife. People can join us in celebration by attending some of the free coastal celebration events that take place around the country as well.
