The documentary looks at the environmental damage and human rights abuses that occur throughout the lifecycle of plastic and what companies\, countries\, and people do to fix the issues. This documentary is from the same organisation who brought us the brilliant ‘Story of Stuff’. \nIt takes place on the 22nd of April from 8 pm to 9.30 pm. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Wednesday 13th May at 7 pm for a virtual talk with Sandra Henry from the Cherish Project\, as part of our Roadshow Series. \nChanges to the Irish climate have been predicted to have significant implications for our built and archaeological heritage. After a short introduction about the work of Clean Coasts\, Sandra will be talking on how climate change impacts on coastal heritage. \nThe talk will last approximately 20 minutes and it will be followed by a quick Q&A session and it will be hosted on Zoom. You have to register to receive the zoom link and it will be sent on the evening of the talk. \nAbout Sandra Henry \nSandra is lead research archaeologist on the EU funded project CHERISH. Sandra’s role involves developing\, guiding and initiating the data capture and research agenda of this collaborative project with Wales \nSandra obtained a B.A. degree in archaeology and classical studies from the National University of Ireland\, Galway\, and an M.A. in maritime archaeology\, at the University of Southern Denmark\, Esbjerg. Clare. He returned to his native Clare after years of living in the United States\, England and mainland Europe\, and in 2006 founded Sea Fever Productions. Among his credits are Natural History TV series Farraigí na hÉireann for TG4\, Ireland’s Ocean for RTÉ\, The Silver Branch for the Irish Film Board as well as work for the BBC and ITV\, culminating in 2018’s critically acclaimed Ireland’s Deep Atlantic. \nKen’s recent book documenting his exploration of the North Atlantic ‘STORIES FROM THE DEEP’ received a rapturous response from critics and the public. \n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Shelly Banks Beach Clean
DESCRIPTION:On August 5th Clean Coasts will be hosting a beach clean that will take place on Shelly Banks beach and it will run from 6.30 pm to 8 pm. The meeting point is Shelly Banks car-park. \nDue to Covid-19 and contact tracing if you want to attend the beach clean you will have to register via the tickets link. Only people who have registered will be allowed to attend the event and places are limited. \nKit that has been cleaned beforehand will be provided but if you have your own gloves and litter picker please do bring them along. \nGPS coordinates are 53.338417\, -6.182530 for the car-park or search Shelly Banks car-park on google maps. Within the car-park there is also an area where you can lock your bike. \nOn arrival please maintain 2 meters distance with further instructions to ensure safety during the event will be given. \nIf you have any questions please email rcurtin@eeu.antaisce.org.
