June 7, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
| FreeA collaborative evening event between Clean Coasts & MaREI, to celebrate Clean Coasts Week and the Cork Harbour Festival at 7:30pm at the Royal Cork Yacht Club, Crosshaven to celebrate Clean Coasts Week and the Cork Harbour Festival.
Inspired by the communication methods of yore, Clean Coasts is pleased to host a compelling panel to explore the issue of marine pollution and how Ireland can best position itself for the challenges of living sustainably.
The panel will consist of a variety of people involved with marine litter issues; from researchers, to documentary makers to community influencers and people working on the ground to bring about and encourage positive behaviour change.
The panel will consider the current and projected issues of litter in Ireland and will discuss ways to bring about changes in how we are currently living.
Irish Documentary maker Vincent Hyland will screen his new documentary “Plastics in Paradise” before the panel event.
Following the panel discussions, the audience will be asked to participate in a Cafe Style discussion event – where they will discuss some intriguing questions and problems facing communities in Ireland today. This brain storming session will likely raise even more questions but hopefully some solutions may also be inspired!
